About Me:
I like to think that I'm a simple going girl who loves to learn and grow in this ever vast and changing world. I love my family, and my friends. I know many people, and love to meet new people each and every day. I hate wearing shoes, and can't stand the taste of coffee.
I'm 5'6", and am... as some people would call me, just a blond haired, blue-eyed Cali girl. I love the beach, and to body surf. I love to feel the ocean mist on my face. I love the feel of sand between my toes. I love looking for sea shells. I value my scars and wouldn't change any choices that I have made in my life, because perhaps I made them for the better. I believe that we can't place our happiness in other peoples hands. I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and I have a firm realization of the teachings of the gospel and understand that I came to earth to gain a knowledge of right and wrong and to become my greatest.
I plan on becoming a CR NA (certified registered nurse anesthetist) in about 7 years... yeah it's going to take me THAT long which, if you think about it, is only like a 1/14 of my life. I want to have an eternal family and get married in a temple of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I want to have as many children as I can afford to have.
I have two younger brothers, a twin sister, and an older sister. I also have two parents that are, and have been, married for time and all eternity for about 21 years, and they are still so much in love with one another. They are so adorable. I could only hope that one day I will be as cute and as loving with my husband as they are to each other.
I like to live my life to its fullest, and I am still growing up, and have many new things that I have to learn about life and the pursuit of happiness.
I am only 18, but I like to act at least a little bit older than what I actually am. I have been through difficult times throughout my life, but I know that come so that I can grow and they help shaped who I am, and who I will become.
This is a video of me at my 18th birthday party trying to blow out my b-day candles without Christiana. It's a sad sad attempt.

Febuary 26, 2009

So, I'm really sore right now. I had a huge massive workout yesterday that included lunges and squats and bicep curls and bar lifts, and other stuff so my body is really really sore! I'm not dating Jared anymore. He turned out to be just a little bit different than what I had imagined him to be. All well. There are plenty of fish in the sea. I love my gospel.
I got my first written letter from Joe Murchison. He's serving in Mexico. Right now he's at a place called Zona Escolar. It's the second smallest mission area in the world. It's like the Utah mission but only in Mexico because there are so many members to a certain block. It's so intense! I have a job interview tomorrow for a place called the Behavioral Learning Center. It's a job that includes working with kids wit Autism and Asberger's type syndromes. Autism is a disease in which can be described/characterized by poor social interaction and communication which is caused by restrictive behavior. The restrictive behavior is caused by a mutation within the brain as is any disease. I will be working with kids between the ages of two and four or five, although the company works with cases between the ages of two and 21, but they say that I am too small to work with any one over the age of five.
Mom is praying to get her job also. She had her second job interview last Friday for an AP at Burbank high school. So anyone that can pray and does pray, please pray for us that she gets that job!
Nothing is really new with Dad. They Volleyball season is really starting now though so Dad and David are getting more and more busy with that going on.
Tyler is still struggling with school and the struggles of becoming a teenager.
Ali is going to have a baby girl. She's keeping the name secret... at least for now... on Chris's behalf.
Christiana is still up at school. She's sick with something right now. Her whole apartment is sick. She has a date tomorrow, and I hope that she is better in time for that.
And that's about it from the life of Duncans for right now. I'll keep you posted.

In the mist of it all I have come to understand a little more, but i still have way more to learn. Right now I find myself facing a huge financial crisis because of the rapidly falling economy and to make matters worse I don't have a job. It's so difficult for me to get a job especially since I will be going back to school in April, and it looks bad when you've had four jobs within the past three years. (These jobs include Magic Mountain from 07/2006 - 08/2007, Jamba Juice from 02/2008 - 08/2008, William S. Hart USD from 07/2008-08/2008 [this was a summer job], and Western Wats from 10/2008 - 12/2008 [which I had while I was up at school]. I really just need my $100 down payment for my housing for when i go back up to school. I can't WAIT till I can go back up there! There's so much to do, and a lot that has been done. I hope that I can finish school in a timely manner. I really do want to serve a mission, and I can't express how much love I feel for my savior and what he's done for me. I want to serve somewhere that doesn't speak English, but of course I will serve where I am sent to. Right now I'm just waiting for everything to happen. I will have to wait the minimum of three years before I even get to turn in my papers. I'm only at the ripe age of 18. I've been on a couple dates these past couple of weeks with a man named Jared,
and to be honest, I had no IDEA that he was 29.. that's a little old for me, but he's still a great guy, and I think that we could be really good friends, nothing more. I don't want him to get the wrong idea so I think that I will try to say no to him when he asks me out on dates. i just always have a hard tome saying, "NO". It's snowing, and it's so cold. The sun's out though, and I think it will be a beautiful day!
My family is doing well I suppose. Alicia Duncan is now Alicia Rogers and they will be expecting their first baby in July. They find out the gender today! Christiana is up at BYU-I right now having a grand ol' time. She loves school. David just turned 16 and he will be going on his first date on Saturday (February 14Th). Tyler is getting better and better each day, though he struggles a LOT with obeying when mom and dad aren't around. Mom and Dad are doing... as well as they could. They are struggling a lot with the falling economy as well so we all find ourselves at a little bit of a finical crisis, but I know that in the end we will be fine.
That's all I have for today, and I look forward to updating this blog kinda like a journal.
